This fun Evening class is great for the beginner thru the advanced. We get a good mix of experience levels in this class and feel free to explore and learn at your own pace. The model will be up in a long pose for the 10 week session, giving you plenty of time to sculpt a complete half lifesize figure or make a combo of works such as a portrait, quick sketch sculpture or start on a Relief. A Few charcoal drawers will be welcomed in each class but sculptors need to keep moving so we only allow a few people Drawing. Process, Methods, Armatures, and Materials will all be discussed and explained in this class So come with all your questions!!! All Levels Welcome!

Travel on a unique journey to discover your inner magic expressiong through 3-dimensional form. Led by renowned sculpting innovator Karen Cope, a small group(limited to a maximum of 15 students) will hear the story of the inner journey that birthed her unique style, and share a Q&A Session in a relaxed conversation. Then, with direct and individulized instruction and giudance from Karen, each artist will create their own interpretaion of the fine art model. The special techniques and materials that you will work with allow completion within the session...no firing required. Weather you've never sculpted before, or you define yourself as a scultpor, this journey invites you to discover somthing beautiful inside as you bring shape to form and life.

Most Students begin working half life-size with the figure or venture into life-size portraiture. Future more experienced works consist of life-size Torso to quick sketch sculpture. We work from one model over a 10 week long pose maximizing our time learning to see and translate truths from nature. The Saturday Sculpting Class welcomes sculptors of all levels of experience where you'll encounter students who have never touched clay before to the working professional. Karen's approach is to take each student to their next level on their specific path thru individualized critiques.

Working from the Charles Bargue Drawing course, Karen will take you thru the Sight-Size Method of Academic Drawing as you study from the old masters drawings. Increase your confidence behind the easel as you learn to achieve greater accuracy and sharpen your eye as you begin in graphite and progress to large charcoal drawings.
